Presidio Park(way)

This is the new with the classic: the Golden Gate Bridge watching over the Presidio Parkway construction project.

This was my first time at Presidio Park, and the area is gorgeous, a far cry from the city life downtown.  There is green everywhere, beautiful views of the bridge, and even the Walt Disney Family Museum.  There happened to be clear skies that day and a strong golden sunset. Here's where I settled in for the shot above:

Post-Processing

• The first step was actually to apply a filter similar to the "lo-fi" Instagram filter. You can download filters like this as Lightroom presets or Photoshop actions.
• It turned out to be way too much, so I brought back the overall saturation and exposure, and especially on the blue tones (the sky is still very blue).  But, I like the extra contrast and it makes a much more dramatic photo.

PS - If you make the trek to Presidio with your camera, make the extra walk to the Golden Gate Bridge itself.  You'll find a visitors center with tourist information and a viewing deck below.  It's worth it.

This photo was taken from the viewing deck. You'll have to be patient while everyone gets their shot, but your turn will come. Bring a wide-angle lens to make sure you can get the shot. This one above is taken at 24mm.
